Philadelphia Youth Basketball is pleased to announce the upcoming Super 16 Middle School Basketball Tournament! On Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend, January 14th-16th, PYB will host two 16-team tournaments (one boys & one girls) on the campus of Germantown Friends School. The tournaments will include four pools, each comprised of one independent school, one Catholic school, one Philadelphia public school, and one suburban public school. Each team is guaranteed 3 games, as well as a tournament t-shirt. A “Greater Philadelphia Champion” for each tournament will be crowned!
At PYB, we believe that community involvement is essential to our mission. Therefore, in addition to the participation in the Super 16 Tournament, coaches and captains of the participating teams will have the opportunity to attend a networking and informational dinner on December 17th at the Power99 Studio. Additionally, prior to the tournament, PYB will host a foul shot-a-thon where each participating player will gather sponsors to pledge a dollar amount for each foul shot made. All proceeds will support the construction of PYB’s all-encompassing center in North Philadelphia, which will serve thousands of young people in the city and region.
A special thank you to Power99, our tournament media sponsor, who is helping to make this experience a resounding success for all participants.
