PYB Leaders on the Move October 31, 2016

At PYB, we are fortunate to have acquired the support and organizational “buy-in” from a diverse, motivated, and cohesive group of leaders in theDavid Gould Headshot youth and education, business, philanthropic, and basketball communities.  This month, several of our shining leaders have been in the spotlight due to exciting professional career moves, as well as noteworthy personal accomplishments.

David Gould, PYB Board Member and Chairman of the organization’s Strategic Planning Committee, was recently appointed as the Deputy Director of Community Engagement and Communications.  After spending four years at the William Penn Foundation, where he served as a Program Officer for R&D/ New Initiatives, David now joins the City of Philadelphia’s Rebuilding Community Infrastructure (Rebuild) initiative.  In his new role, David will oversee the coordination of community engagement and communications within Rebuild.  Through public, private, and philanthropic support, this transformative initiative is structured as an investment in Philadelphia’s neighborhoods, particularly within the community’s parks, libraries, recreation centers, and playgrounds.  Among the project’s ambitious objectives, David and Rebuild Team will expand educational opportunities for children, supporting healthy lifestyles for all, improving safety in shared spaces, and creating jobs across Philadelphia.

Jason Harrigan Leaders FeatureEarlier this month, Jason Harrigan, one of PYB’s Collegiate Summer Camp Series head coaches, accepted the head boys’ basketball coaching position at Cardinal O’Hara High School.  Last year, Jason guided his Delaware Valley Charter boys’ basketball program to the Public League and city championships.  After six years of coaching and mentoring the young men of Delaware Valley, this season you will see Jason on the sidelines for the Lions’, leading the Cardinal O’Hara team, a member in the prestigious Philadelphia Catholic League.
